Boatsetter Raises $13M in Series A Funding

boatsetterBoatsetter, a Miami, Florida-based online boat rental marketplace, completed a $13m Series A funding.

Backers included Great Oaks Venture Capital, Stanford University DAPER Fund, ZG Ventures and Peninsula Ventures, as well as high impact angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its sales and marketing efforts as well as broaden and accelerate its operations in the United States.

Led by Jaclyn Baumgarten, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Boatsetter is a peer-to-peer boating marketplace that offers a worldwide fleet to choose from, connecting boat owners and licensed captains to renters. The platform is expected to host 10,000 high quality rental boats, activate 200 marinas and connect boating travelers to 2,000 captains nearly anywhere in the world in 2017.
The company also provides 24/7 customer service support and offers insurance coverage, both in the U.S. and internationally, for renters, boat owners, and captains.
