VirtDB Raises $1.2M in Funding

virtdbVirtDB, a Budapest, Hungary-based software technology startup developing innovative data access solutions, raised $1.2m in funding.

The Corvinus Kockázati Tőkealap-kezelő Zrt (CKTA), a memeber of the Hungarian Development Bank Group, made the investment.

The company intends to use the funds to speed up product and business development.

Established by Starschema to spin-off self-service data access technology development and led by Peter Csillag, CEO, VirtDB connects legacy and new, personal and enterprise, on-premise and cloud data storages to make data easy to utilize for business people.

The company has just released the beta version of Data Unfolder Lite enabling SAP® (R/3) users to analyze their operational ERP data in business intelligence tools, like Tableau, QlikView or TIBCO Spotfire with no components to be installed on SAP® Application Server. The company now plans to add other self-service data management products for further data sources and targets over time.
