D-Orbit Raises €1.83M in VC Funding

dorbitD-Orbit, a Milan, Italy-based developer of devices to remove artificial satellites from their orbits at the end of their life, raised €1.83m in new funding.

The round was led by Club degli Investitori (with approx. €1.3m), with participation from existing investors TTVenture and Como Venture, as well as local angels.

The company intends to use the funds to launch their products in the market.

Founded in 2011 by CEO Luca Rossettini, D-Orbit focuses on stopping the systematic increase of concentration in uncontrolled debris in space by offering smart propulsive devices that remove artificial satellites from their orbits at the end of their useful life. The system is installed on the satellite prior to launch.

D-Orbit had already raised €2.2m in funding at the end of 2104.
