FileChat, a Paris, France- and New York-based application that allows users to chat about and share documents, inside their favorite cloud storage platforms, secured a $3m round of funding.
Backers included private investors.
The company intends to use the funds for the development and launch of the platform.
Led by Alberto Escarlate, CEO, FileChat provides a mobile and web application that allows professionals, friends and families to chat about and share documents, videos and photos inside their favorite cloud storage platforms.
It supports Dropbox and Google Drive with a collaborative experience on PCs, Macs, smartphones and tablets. Additional cloud platforms, including OneDrive, Box and Amazon Cloud Drive will be added in the near future.
The app is currently free (available at http://bit.ly/FileChatWeb (web version), http://bit.ly/FilechatAndroid and at the Apple App Store http://bit.ly/FileChatiOS) and will be adding premium services/levels in the coming months.
