Skyward, a Portland, OR-based information management platform for commercial drone operators, raised $4.1m in funding.
Backers included Draper Associates, Founders Co-Op, Norwest Venture Partners, Techstars Ventures, Verizon Ventures, and Voyager Capital. In conjunction with the funding, David Famolari of Verizon Ventures and Ari Newman of Techstars Ventures will join as observers on Skyward’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the engineering and product development team (http://skyward.io/careers/).
Led by Jonathan Evans, CEO, Skyward provides an information management platform that connects drones and their operators with the information they need to fly safely and in compliance with regulatory and insurance requirements. Skyward’s cloud-based solution suite delivers a digital system of record, real-time air chart, and unique drone IDs essential for commercial operations.
