KeVita, Inc., the Oxnard, CA-based maker of KeVita Sparkling Probiotic Drinks, closed on a $6m Series D financing.
The round was led by SPK Capital LLC, with participation from existing investors KarpReilly and the Ecosystem Integrity Fund. In conjunction with the funding, SPK’s Elliot Karathanasis, will join KeVita’s board.
The company intends to use the funds to deploy some new marketing initiatives to further accelerate growth, invest in innovation and have new products in the market out later this year.
Led by Bill Moses, co-founder and CEO, KeVita produces an organic line of probiotic drinks that range from five to 45 calories per serving. The products, which are vegan and free of dairy, gluten and GMOs, feature a proprietary probiotic culture of four strains. Flavors include Lemon Cayenne Daily Cleanse, Mojita Lime Mint Coconut, Living Greens, Coconut, Lemon Ginger, Mango Coconut, Pomegranate and Strawberry Acai Coconut.
The beverages can be found in retailers such as Safeway, Vons, Kroger, Ralphs, Sprouts and Whole Foods Market.
