ieCrowd Raises $2.2M in Funding

ieCrowdieCrowd, a Riverside, CA-based discovery-to-market commercialization platform for innovations that solve global challenges, raised an additional $2.2m in funding.

Investors include physicians, healthcare professionals, and other private funders from around the world.

The company, which has now raised  $7m, intends to use the funds to accelerate product development and go-to-market activities and to scale up operations.

Founded in 2010 and led by Amro Albanna, Chairman and CEO, ieCrowd combines entrepreneurship and the crowd to develop innovations into market-driven solutions to global challenges. It vets and selects discoveries, sourced from scientists and engineers at universities and research institutions, which have the potential to positively impact the lives of people around the world.
The first solution was Kite Patch, a product being designed to make people virtually invisible to mosquitos, which is a potential breakthrough in the fight against malaria, a disease that kills more than one million people per year and impacts over two billion people annually.
