Kahuna, a Mountain, View, CA-based mobile marketing platform, raised $11m in funding.
Sequoia Capital provided the funds. In conjunction with the round, Sequoia partner Omar Hamoui, the founder of AdMob, joined Kahuna’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the proceeds to continue developing its mobile marketing solution, scale operations, and expand its customer base.
Founded in 2012 by CEO Adam Marchick and Jacob Taylor, Kahuna provides a mobile marketing platform that automatically identifies mobile behavior and delivers personalized campaigns to maximize usage and revenue. The Kahuna Customer Engagement Engine is available for iOS, Android and mobile.
The company, which serves Yahoo, 1-800-Flowers and the New England Patriots, among others, and partners with Branding Brand, a mobile commerce platform provider, to give 250+ retailers immediate access to its solution, has just added testing technology and push response tracking features.
