Amprius, a Sunnyvale, California-based manufacturer and developer of lithium-ion batteries, raised $30m in Series C funding.
The round was led by SAIF Partners with participation from previous investors Trident Capital, VantagePoint Capital Partners, IPV Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Chinergy Capital, Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, and Stanford University.
The company intends to use the funds to commercialize its batteries and further develop solutions.
Led by Dr. Kang Sun, CEO, Amprius is a manufacturer and developer of high energy and high capacity lithium-ion batteries. The company also operates an R&D lab and pilot production line for advanced battery development in Nanjing, China.
