Knoda (NODE-uh), a Kansas City-based developer of a platform to make, track, rank and archive predictions, secured seed funding from a local angel investor.
The amount and the mane of the backer were not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to hire full-time staff, cover operational expenses and provide marketing support for the launch. It is currently completing development on an iPhone application scheduled to launch in early December.
The team will then focus on building Android and desktop web versions of the product for launch in early 2014.
Co-Founded by COO James Flexman and CEO Kyle Rogers, Knoda is an inaugural member of the SparkLabKC business accelerator and now part of the Digital Sandbox program.
The platform allows users to make predictions about any topic. Other users weigh in on those predictions, and Knoda crowdsources the results to find out who is right and who is wrong. Knoda then rates and ranks predictors based on their skill level.
