Backers included unnamed angel investors who follow the London Tech City start up scene.
Founded by Sumner Murphy, Mobento has developed a video learning environment that combines technology with commitment to high quality content.
The service provides a library of educational videos to schools and students through a web site and a line of mobile apps.
The company licences its technology platform to organizations that need easy to use services to archive and distribute their own in-house video libraries.
Customers include iHeed, a body for promoting innovation in health education.
