WhiteHat Security Receives $31M Growth Financing

WhiteHat Security, a Santa Clara, California-based Web security company, received a $31m growth financing.

Backers included new investor JMI Equity, and existing backerĀ Investor Growth Capital.

Founded in 2001 and led by Stephanie Fohn, CEO, WhiteHat Security provides a cloud website vulnerability management platform. The company provides WhiteHat Sentinel, its flagship product line which currently manages more than 11,000 websites in e-commerce, financial services, technology, and healthcare markets. It recently launched Sentinel Mobile, which extends security to applications on mobile platforms, and Sentinel Source, a new approach to ensuring application security from application inception.

The company intends to use the proceeds to increase their focus on the small-to medium-sized enterprise (SME) market, expand sales of Sentinel Mobile and Sentinel Source, and grow internationally.
