RallyPoint, a Boston, MA-based professional network for U.S. military service members, has raised $1m in angel funding.
Backers included angel investors from Boston, Washington, DC, and London. Representing the investors on the Board is Jill Preotle.
The company intends to use the capital to expand its marketing efforts and partner with trusted employers, academic institutions, and brands to connect them with the right service members at the right time.
Founded by two Iraq War veterans CEO Yinon Weiss and Aaron Kletzing, RallyPoint is a free, military-only professional community for active service members.
The companym which is headquartered in the Harvard Innovation Lab in Boston, in 2012, also received:
– $550k in equity funding in April; and
– $100,000 award as runner-up in the 2012 Business Plan Competition MassChallenge (Harvard Business School).
