SessionM, a Boston, MA-based mobile engagement engine for the app economy, has raised $20m in Series B financing.
The round was led by Charles River Ventures, with participation from existing investors Highland Capital Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers (KPCB).
The company intends to use the funding to to hire engineers and sales people (http://www.sessionm.com/jobs.php) and continue to expand its platform, technology and network.
In conjunction with the financing, Jon Auerbach, general partner at Charles River Ventures, has joined SessionM’s board.
Founded in 2011 and led by CEO s Albright, SessionM has built an innovative platform that promotes deeper engagement with mobile content and advertising. Clients include Viacom Interactive, The Weather Channel, Demand Media, Honda, Universal, Volvo and Unilever.
The company also has offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City and Chicago.
