Veggie Grill, a Southern California-based restaurant brand, has completed a $11m third equity funding.
Backers are current shareholders as well as new investors, including California-based private equity firm Brentwood Associates, which has also agreed to supply additional funds within 18 months on pre-negotiated terms.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand outside of Southern California. New locations in Washington and Oregon are forecasted to open during the first half of 2012.
Co-founded by T.K. Pillan and Kevin Boylan and led by CEO Greg Dollarhyde, Veggie Grill offers 100% plant-based soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches and desserts that are made on premise daily.
