E la Carte Closes $4M Venture Capital Round from Lightbank

E la Carte, the maker of a customer-facing tableside tablet for restaurant and related hospitality industries (Presto), has closed a $4m venture capital round from Lightbank.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its sales and support efforts nationally.

E la Carte deploys its tablet Presto on restaurant tables so that guests can order, play games and pay from their seats without having to wait. It has a full-day battery life, a credit card reader and can sit comfortably and naturally on restaurant tables. Customers include Pizzeria Venti and Umami Burger.

Founded in 2008 by Rajat Suri, the company has also been funded by SV Angel and the creators of Dropbox, Reddit and Farmville, Skip Sack, a former board member and SVP at Applebee’s, as well as several other top restaurant executives.

E la Carte, which has more than 20 employees in its offices in Silicon Valley, Boston, Chicago, and New York City, is currently hiring (click here).
