Filmaster Raises €191K from HackFwd

Filmaster, a Polish startup that develops a movie recommendation app, has raised €191k (approximately $250k) from HackFwd, with a valuation of 636.000 EUR (around $1m).

The company intends to use the funds to continue to further develop the product, create versions for other mobile platforms beyond iOS including Android, and expand internationally. The priority is the new version of the website and an update to the Filmaster iPhone app with TV recommendations features.
In the long term, the company’s co-founders Borys Musielak, Jakub Tlałka and Paweł Czerski are planning to create a apps based on the Filmaster API and targeted at different user groups. One of the project is the development of a movie discovery game designed for iPad.

The investment will allow HackFwd to acquire a minority stake in the company.
