Storenvy Raises $1.5M

Storenvy, a San Francisco, CA-based social marketplace and store builder for indie brands, has raised $1.5m in funding.
The round was led by Spark Capital and First Round Capital with participation from KPCB, Charles River Ventures and a group of angel investors including David Cohen (founder of TechStars), John Maloney (president of Tumblr), David Cancel (CEO of Performable) and David Hauser amd Siamak Taghaddos (co-founders of Grasshopper).
The company intends to use the funds to hire several core employees (http://www.storenvy.com/jobs).
Led by CEO, Jon Crawford, Storenvy provides a stylish social marketplace for shoppers and an online store builder fro free. It currently has a community of 60,000 shoppers and 2,800 online stores.
