Alcuin Capital Partners Holds £81M Close of Third Fund

Alcuin Capital Partners LLP, a London, UK-based private equity firm, has held an £81m close of its third fund.
The Third Alcuin Fund LP makes £2-10m growth capital and buyout investments in UK-based companies valued between £5 and £30m across all sectors.
The vehicle, which expects to hold a final closing at £100m by the end of the first quarter of 2011, has already made two investments:
– Agrivert, an organic waste recycling and waste-to-energy company;
– AudioGo, a UK-based audiobook publisher, which was recently acquired from BBC Worldwide.
The team is led by Mark Storey and Ian Henderson-Londoño, who together founded Alcuin in 2002.
The fund is backed by institutional investors and family offices, including Alliance Trust Equity Partners, the European Investment Fund, Parish Capital Advisors, RenditeWertBeteiligungen (RWB) and an undisclosed UK insurance company.
