Olympus Capital Partners, a Menlo Park, CA-based new late-stage venture capital and growth equity firm, has closed its $150m maiden fund.
The vehicle was raised from a restricted number of limited partners, which include a large (undisclosed) international asset management group.
The company, which focuses on clean energy & information technology companies, has just led a $41.5m Series C round of funding in solar company Solexant Corp.
Olympus intends to invest its first fund in 10-12 companies over a five-year period, committing approximately $7m-$15m in each company. Its investment team includes firm’s founder Rami Elkhatib, and venture partners Charles Ho and Debra Schilling.
