Tandem, a Chicago, IL-based provider of an app for couples to manage their finances together, raised $3.7m in seed funding.
The round was led by Corazon Capital, with participation from several individuals.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach, and develop the platform with additional features and build the Android app.
Led by Daniel Couvreur and Michelle Winterfield, Tandem provides an app that helps couples to plan, save, and spend together without the need for a joint account. In particular, its feature, called “Goals,” allows users to collaboratively plan and save for shared purchases. The app helps couples save items for future purchase and map out all their goals in one place, They can contribute to specific goals, track progress, and earn interest together through high-yield savings accounts. When couples have reached their goals, they can purchase the products they want directly from the app.
Launched in August 2023, the app has already been used by over 25,000 people.
