Fulcrum Therapeutics, a Cambridge, Mass.-based biotechnology company, secured additional Series A funding of undisclosed amount.
GV (formerly Google Ventures) made the investment.
The company intends to use the funds for the continued advancement of its lead programs in Fragile X syndrome (FXS) and Fascioscapularhumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD).
Founded in July 2016 and led by Robert J. Gould, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer, Fulcrum is focused on discovering and developing small molecule therapies that modulate the dynamic on and off switches that control gene regulation to treat serious genetic diseases.
The company was launched by Third Rock Ventures in 2016.
