Neuralink, an Austin, TX and Fremont, CA-based brain-implant startup, raised $650m in Series E funding.
Backers included ARK Invest, DFJ Growth, Founders Fund, G42, Human Capital, Lightspeed, QIA, Sequoia Capital, Thrive Capital, Valor Equity Partners, Vy Capital, amongst others.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
Founded by Elon Musk, Neuralink is building technology to help restore autonomy to those with motor, speech, or vision impairment by enabling them to control computers and robotic arms with their minds, output verbal thought as text, and generate visual perception.
