Matterworks, Inc, a Somerville, MA-based provider generating unstructured molecular data for predictive biology, raised an undisclosed amount in Series A funding.
The round was led by Lewis & Clark Partners and OMX Ventures, with participation from Pillar VC, Germin8 Ventures, Intermountain Ventures, and Tarsadia, among others.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its model as a service (MaaS) business and expand its machine learning and scientific operations.
Led by CEO Jack Geremia, Matterworks provides Large Spectral Models (LSMs) that productize self-supervised machine intelligence for direct machine interpretation of molecular-omic data. Pyxis, released in 2024, is a generative AI for complete untargeted molecular annotation, enabling new data modalities for understanding and predicting complex biological outcomes.
