Zapia, a Montevideo, Uruguay- and Menlo Park, CA-based WhatsApp-based AI executive assistant in Latin America, raised additional $7.25M in Seed funding.
The round, which brought the total amount of the Seed to over $12M, was led by Prosus Ventures, with participation from Endeavor Catalyst, Anthos Capital, Factory HQ, and SnR.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
Zapia is a WhatsApp-based AI executive assistant that has over 3.5 million users gained primarily through word-of-mouth. Users use it to set WhatsApp reminders, schedule WhatsApp messages, transcribe voice notes, interpret images and PDFs, search for products online and retrieve up-to-date information from the internet, along with more than 20 additional features.
Today, Zapia can navigate the web on the user’s behalf, interpret images and PDFs, write content, set WhatsApp reminders, schedule WhatsApp messages and more. Users start chatting with Zapia on WhatsApp to get things done. While WhatsApp remains the primary access point, the company has also launched iOS and Android apps.
