SpinLaunch, a Long Beach, CA-based space solutions company, received a $12M investment from Kongsberg.
The company intends to use the funds to to support the development and commercialization of the constellation.
Founded in 2014 and led by CEO David Wrenn, SpinLaunch is a space technology company leveraging a new approach to space launch through a series of flight tests with its 33-meter Suborbital Accelerator. In 2025, it commercialized Meridian Space, a differentiated LEO satellite constellation.
The partnership extended to Kongsberg NanoAvionics (KNA), which SpinLaunch has selected as the exclusive satellite supplier for the initial deployment of 280 satellites. Leveraging its flight heritage and manufacturing capabilities, NanoAvionics will play a critical role in enabling Meridian’s phased deployment plan, with development of the in-orbit demonstrator (IOD) – planned for 2026 – already underway.
