Socket, a San Francisco, CA-based software supply chain security company, acquired Coana, an Aarhus, Denmark-based static analysis and reachability engine provider.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Led by CEO Anders Søndergaard, Coana provides an analysis engine allowing AppSec (Application Security) teams to accelerate time to remediation for critical vulnerabilities.
Led by Feross Aboukhadijeh, CEO and Founder, Socket provides a security platform that protects apps from software supply chain attacks. Customers include organizations in tech, media, manufacturing, and finance.
With this acquisition, the company now delivers the most complete and mature SCA platform on the market. The company currently protects over 8,500 organizations and 750,000+ code repositories, scanning every commit in real time. Socket detects and blocks more than 1,000 software supply chain attacks per week, and has identified over 100,000 malicious artifacts across open source ecosystems like npm, PyPI, Maven, and Go.
