Osstec, a London, UK-based joint replacement implants startup using 3D printing technology, raised £2.5M in funding.
The round was led by Empirical Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to launch in the market and scale its impact with strategic partners in the medical field.
Led by CEO and Founder Max Munford, Osstec has developed patented 3D-printing technology to mimic both cartilage articulating surfaces and bone-fixing structures. Its first product, built on 10 years of Imperial College London research, is a knee implant that combines innovative 3D-printed articulating surfaces with biomimetic cementless fixation for enhanced functionality, superior fixation, and a long-lasting bone foundation.
