Futureverse, a Los Angeles, CA-based generative AI and open gaming technologies provider, acquired Candy Digital, a provider of a fan experience platform.

Candy Digital is a provider of a fan experience platform that connects people to their passions in sports, entertainment and culture. Its team of digital artists, designers, and technologists work with forward-thinking brands to create digital experiences that reimagine the future of fandom. The company is backed by investors including Galaxy Digital, ConsenSys Mesh, HENI, 10T Holdings, Microsoft, Griffin Gaming, RRE Ventures, Arcadia, Martis Capital, Third Kind Venture Capital, Warner Brothers, The Lao, Wakem Digital, and Jay Street Holdings, among others.

With the acquisition of Candy, Futureverse will expand its offerings. Candy’s premium IP and expansive content library will be integrated into The Root Network, Futureverse’s layer 1 blockchain, which will address brand concerns around AI, creative rights, and ownership.

Led by CEO Aaron McDonald, Futureverse provides AI and metaverse technologies that enable open, scalable, and interoperable apps, games, and experiences. Focused on building the technological infrastructure of the open metaverse, it has built strategic partnerships with IP holders, including Warner Brothers, FIFA, Reebok, and Wētā Workshop.
