Adaptavate, a Bristol, UK-based company which specializes in developing and industrialising low-carbon and carbon-negative construction materials, raised £2.7M in Pre-Series A funding.
Backers included Undivided Ventures and Skreenhouse Ventures by SigmaRoc.
The company intends to use the funds for ‘Project Crystal’, its upcoming industrial demonstrator facility to accelerate the global adoption of its low-carbon technology and flagship product, Breathaboard.
Led by CEO and Founder Tom Robinson, Adaptavate is a company developing and commercialising the carbon negative building materials. Its products include the Breathaplasta product family, a range of performance plasters. The range includes:
- Breathaplasta UNIVERSAL: a bio-based, multi-purpose plaster designed for rapid build-up onto a wide range of backgrounds including plasterboard and wood wool board.
- Breathaplasta THERMAL: a low-density insulating plaster designed for a fast application onto the internal face of solid masonry walls for effective, breathable internal wall insulation (IWI).
- Breathaplasta SMOOTH: a finishing plaster designed to be a smooth final surface finish that is quick to apply onto plasterboard and to overcoat existing plaster surfaces.
As part of this round, Adaptavate has also entered a strategic partnership with SigmaRoc to create a supply chain for calcium carbonate-based wallboards.
