StepOut, a Bengaluru, India-based Indian sports performance analysis and ecosystem technology startup, raised $500K in Seed funding.
The round was led by Rainmatter, founded by Nithin Kamath, CEO of Zerodha, with participation from Misfits Capital, founded by Amit Singh, co-founder of Shuttl, IndigoEdge and Marwah Sports Group, angel investors such as Kaushik Roy, former MD of JP Morgan, along with other CXOs of Fortune 500 companies.
The company intends to use the funds for international business expansion majorly in the US, Australia, Middle East and Spain, in addition to product and AI development.
Founded by college mates Jeet Karmakar and Sayak Ghosh, StepOut develops sports technology, enhancing player and team performance through comprehensive data and video analysis. The platform includes an admin web app for coaches and analysts, as well as a mobile app for players, offering information design that makes data actionable and easy to understand.
StepOut currently works with the likes of AFC Ajax from the Eredivisie and Rayo Vallecano from La Liga. With 3500 matches analysed thus far across 2500 teams and over 40,000 football players, StepOut will soon branch out to other sports.
