Echandia, a Stockholm, Sweden-based maritime battery system supplier, raised SEK 220M in funding.
The round was led by Alantra’s energy transition fund Klima, and Industrifonden, with participation from SEB Greentech VC and EEI.
The company intends to use the funds for global expansion and production capabilities in Sweden and US. Expansion investments in the US market include the recently announced new production facility in Washington State where Echandia will produce its advanced maritime battery system.
Led by CEO Torbjörn Bäck, Echandia specializes in maritime battery systems used to optimize energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact, supporting the maritime industry’s transition towards sustainable operations. It serves its customers delivering nearly 70 systems for electrification projects worldwide.
