Recharge, an Amsterdam, the Netherlands-based company which specializes in online prepaid payments, received a €45M facility from ABN AMRO.
The company intends to use the fund to drive consolidation across markets, open new segments and overall strengthen its leadership position in the prepaid payments industry.
Led by CEO Günther Vogelpoel, Recharge provides a unified digital solutions helping people and businesses to leverage prepaid payment products. With 30% year-on-year revenue growth in 2024 and growing demand for its digital prepaid solutions, the company plans to reach €1bn of sales in 2025.
This announcement follows Recharge’s acquisition of Dutch startup StartSelect in 2023, and will enable multiple acquisitions of European startups to fuel Recharge’s growth, with two to three deals targeted in 2025.
