Doti AI, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based Work AI platform enabling enterprises to access to internal knowledge in real time, has just raised $7m in seed funding. In conjunction with the announcement, Matan Cohen, CEO, replied to our questions about the company, the product, achievements, and future plans.

FinSMEs: Hi Matan, can you tell us a bit more about yourself? What’s your background?

Sure!

I’m Matan Cohen, CEO of Doti. My background, along with Opher Hofshi, Co-founder and CPO, is rooted in decades of experience in enterprise software development, infrastructure and security.

Before founding Doti, I held several leadership R&D positions at Wix, WalkMe and the Israeli IDF, while Opher managed an infrastructure security team in Wix along other roles in the past. When working for Wix we both encountered firsthand the inefficiencies caused by fragmented organizational knowledge.

This shared frustration inspired us to take a leap in mid-2023—despite the challenging economic climate—and start Doti with a vision for innovation. We spent months diving deep into the pain points of knowledge retrieval and collaboration in fast-paced environments. Through extensive conversations with industry leaders and rapid MVP development, we were able to secure initial contracts and focus on building a solution that directly addresses these challenges.

FinSMEs: Let’s speak about Doti. What is the market problem you want to solve? What is the real opportunity?

The last decade was marked by abundant venture capital money, fueling hyper-growth in companies.

Organizations rapidly scaled their operations at all costs to hit their targets:

  • Acquiring dozens of tools, often resulting in significant overlap. Research shows that 30-40% of SaaS applications within a company tend to have redundant functionalities, as observed by BetterCloud and Blissfully.
  • Expanding the global workforce by hiring entire teams in remote locations, fostering a diverse culture and assembling multilingual teams across different time zones.
  • Enabling “companies” within the company, functioning as isolated units, building their own processes, tools and data silos.
  • Creating a “Siloed” landscape where Information is fragmented, often buried in Slack threads, shared drives and disjointed CRM systems.
  • Eventually leading to Inefficiencies and Poor Decision Making, as employees struggle to access critical information, slowing down decision-making processes and customer response times.

This rapid scaling made it painfully clear: without a centralized system that unifies it all, growth is unsustainable.

However, most organizations approach this challenge with traditional knowledge base solutions,a choice that often backfires.

While the intent behind deploying a knowledge base is reasonable, traditional solutions struggle to meet the dynamic needs of fast-paced organizations.

  1. Too Many Systems, Too Few Integrations‍

Modern companies use a variety of tools: communication platforms like Slack, CRMs like Salesforce, documentation tools like Confluence, and dozens of others. Without seamless integration, knowledge remains scattered, inaccessible, and hard to manage.

  1. Tool Overlap and conflicting sources‍

More often than not, companies find themselves paying for multiple tools that perform similar functions. This results in redundant data storage and conflicting sources of truth.

  1. Poor User Adoption‍

Employees resist static, outdated knowledge bases that require significant manual effort to maintain. If the system is cumbersome or doesn’t fit into their workflow, they simply won’t use it.

  1. Static and Inflexible Structures‍

Traditional knowledge bases are rigid, requiring meticulous categorization and manual updates. This makes them ill-suited for dynamic environments where information evolves rapidly.

  1. Inadequate Search and Discovery‍

Even when information is available, poor search functionality often prevents users from finding it. Contextual understanding, natural language processing and reasoning capabilities are usually lacking.

This is where Work AI solutions like Doti step in, offering a transformative approach to knowledge management. By addressing the core failures of traditional systems, these AI-driven platforms provide:

  1. Universal Connectivity‍

Work AI can connect to all your systems — from Slack to Salesforce, Google Drive to proprietary databases. This eliminates silos and creates a unified knowledge ecosystem.

  1. ‍Dynamic Data Normalization‍

AI continuously learns from your organization’s data, normalizing disparate formats and updating itself in real time. This ensures information remains current and relevant.

  1. Context-Aware Search and Reasoning‍

AI-powered search capabilities go beyond keyword matching. They understand the intent behind queries, providing precise answers and actionable insights.

  1. Seamless Employee Integration‍

Unlike traditional knowledge bases, Enterprise AI meets employees where they work — embedding into tools like Slack, Teams, or email clients. This reduces context switching and encourages widespread adoption.

  1. Scalability and Flexibility‍

Enterprise AI platforms are inherently scalable, capable of adapting to changing organizational needs. Their flexibility ensures they remain useful even as businesses evolve.

FinSMEs: What are the features differentiating the product from competitors?

Doti AI eliminates these inefficiencies by unifying your company’s data and providing instant, contextual and relevant answers.

With seamless integrations into platforms your teams already use, such as Slack, a web interface or a Chrome Extension, Doti AI allows you to ask a question and receive an answer tailored to your unique data.

At its core is a sophisticated knowledge graph that identifies related knowledge entities and binds them together, regardless of their originating systems. This ensures a cohesive and connected understanding of your organization’s information, enabling smarter and faster decision-making.

Key Benefits of Doti AI

  1. Security & Privacy Controls

Realizing the importance of security measures and data protection from day zero, leveraging Opher’s extensive security knowledge he acquired over the years, we have built Doti as one of the most secured solutions out there – to be able to work with even the most sophisticated companies out there.

Whether it is supporting hybrid deployment types (SaaS to On-Premise), Creating a multi-layered access control mechanism to ensure no data leakage occurs, the use of advanced algorithms and guardrails to ensure no advanced prompt injection attacks can harm Doti or its users and such.

  1. Knowledge Retrieval

By connecting to all internal tools and systems, Doti provides instant access to relevant information and insights. It consolidates data from multiple sources, whether structured or unstructured, enabling teams to quickly find answers, make informed decisions, and significantly reduce the time spent searching for information.

One of Doti’s unique value propositions lies in its ability to support not only “basic search” across data but also advanced analytical queries and metadata-driven questions. Imagine asking questions like:

  • “Find tickets from September to October with customer complaints about log-in issues.”
  • “Do I have any Jira tickets assigned to me with the status ‘TO-DO’?”
  • “What were the last three messages in our shared Slack channel with Ikea (#ikea-support)?”

Another standout feature of Doti is its availability across multiple, commonly used systems such as Browser Extensions, Slack, and APIs. By deploying Doti across these key platforms, we ensure users can seamlessly access its capabilities with minimal context switching and effort.

Whether you are interacting with your colleagues or even your customers in Slack channels you could tag Doti and find an answer, you are drafting an email and just have to rephrase it quickly to make it more formal or even quickly drafting a new policy document and need to style it properly.

  1. Knowledge relevancy & Updating

Any sort of “grounded” AI solution that relies on organizational knowledge will suffer from an inherent bias, as companies move fast and cannot maintain their documentation as updated ever (Coined Garbage-In-Garbage-Out).

A lot of the organizational know-how is shared in non-official and undocumented channels. A short stand-up meeting between two engineers or a simple corridor talk about the product changes.

And even if you were able to always write down everything that happens in the organisation there is this issue of there is no one single centralized system in which I can create an update that would be propagated to everyone at once.

Doti has created a multi-layered solution that relies both on automated processes as well as human interactions to retrieve and produce as accurate and relevant information as possible at all times.

Starting from the concept of Spaces, where you can create accurate “context spaces” for users using the relevant knowledge sources for them only, then supporting custom configurations and prioritizations in each space and finally the “Modify” functionality.

With Modify, you can “finetune” any answer provided by Doti with new information, creating a “Dot” (a small piece of information that is stored with Doti) that is immediately propagated to everyone in the organization. Using this Dot and Modify function, you can rest assured that anyone who asks this or similar questions again will receive the most accurate information. And the best part of that? Users can do that directly in Slack or any other interface they are in.

  1. Ease of Implementation

There is a significant difference between installing and implementing tools. While many companies may promise “seamless integration” and a quick 1-hour installation, some tools can take months to fully implement within an organization.

One of the most surprising challenges in implementing a chat-based solution is actually the opposite of what we might expect: users often don’t know what to ask.

With these in mind we have developed a solution called “AutoPilot” that enables Doti to monitor employee questions in shared Slack channels. When it identifies a proper answer, it responds directly within the channel in an invisible manner. This approach eliminates the need for users to consciously think about what to ask Doti, as it seamlessly captures their daily questions in the most natural way possible.

FinSMEs: You just raised a new funding round. Please, tell us more about it.

We’ve just raised $7 million in seed funding led by F2 Venture Capital, with participation from notable angel investors including Jared Kasner, General Partner at Ineffable Ventures, and Guy Flechter, serial entrepreneur and CEO of Sola Security.

Using this fundraising we’re planning to expand the team, onboard more customers and keep improving the platform. It’s all about scaling thoughtfully making sure every customer gets value while we continue to innovate and push forward.

FinSMEs: Can you share some numbers and achievements for the business?

We’ve already seen strong early adoption, with employee usage increasing by an average of 4X within three months of deployment across several leading enterprises. In one instance, usage grew 11X during the same period, showcasing how effectively the platform integrates into existing workflows and delivers value. This strong adoption reflects Doti’s ability to seamlessly integrate with existing tools, deliver intuitive usability and provide actionable insights that employees trust. These early results underscore Doti’s potential to reshape enterprise AI, helping organizations realize the full potential of its data and achieve measurable impact across teams.

FinSMEs: What are your medium-term plans?

Given the tremendous market demand and the traction, we are already seeing, we are planning to expand both our team and our offering to realize this massive potential.

As briefly mentioned before, we are planning to expand our R&D team and our Go-to-Market team to further expand our reach in the U.S. market and establish strong foundations there.
