DigitalArchi, a Kamakura City, Japan-based startup that manufactures and sells formworks made with plastic using 3D printers, received an investment from Toyoda Gosei.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
Led by CEO Yasutomo Matsuoka, DigitalArchi aims to help relieve the worker shortage and other issues facing the construction industry by fabricating forms for concrete construction with 3D printers to ease workloads and increase efficiency on job sites. This formwork is generally made by construction workers using wood, which takes time and energy.
