Banyu, a Jakarta, Indonesia-based technology-enabled, integrated seaweed company, raised US$1.25M in Seed funding.
The round was led by Intudo.
The company intends to use the funds to establish a seedling cultivation laboratory and nursery and grow its farming and exporting operations.
Led by Dodon Yamin (CEO), Anis Nur Aini (CSO), and Anthony Kwik (President Commissioner), Banyu is a technology-enabled, integrated seaweed company supporting local farmers through seedlings, farming techniques, and access to stable income. The company sells seaweed on a global scale, working with major international FMCG companies and ingredients companies for food production as well as providing inputs for emerging use cases such as biofertilizers, bioplastics, animal feed, and other bioproducts. Banyu works closely with buyers to define upfront the desired seaweed species, quantity, as well as environmental and social standards required for the purchase.
