Fluid Biomed, a Calgary, Alberta-based clinical stage medical device company developing lifesaving products for patients suffering from vascular disease, raised $27M USD in Series A funding.
The round was led by Amplitude Ventures and an undisclosed major strategic partner, with participation from IAG Capital Partners and LifeArc Ventures, as well as returning investors, ShangBay Capital and METIS Innovative.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its R&D sector.
Led by John Wong and Alim Mitha, Fluid Biomed is a clinical stage medical device company that is developing new stents to treat vascular disease. The company has created ReSolv™, a bioabsorbable polymer-based neurovascular stent to cure brain aneurysms, which are a leading cause of stroke and disability worldwide.
