Buildforce Acquires Ladder

-

Buildforce, a Houston, TX-based provider of a platform connecting skilled electricians with top electrical contractors, announced it has acquired Ladder, an Atlanta, GA-based Y Combinator-backed technology-enabled construction labor marketplace.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquisition will further Buildforce’s expansion into the Southeastern U.S. where demand for experienced trade workers has accelerated. The company will leverage the Ladder customer base of over 200 customers across six states, as well as its extensive electrician network of over 10,000 pre-screened electricians, the largest in the Southeast.

Led by Founder and CEO Alex Stewart, Ladder provides an automated construction recruitment platform that enables workers to create a profile, validate their skills, and apply for opportunities on their mobile phones.

Founded in 2019 by Moody Heard, Vu Brown, and Michael Orcutt, Buildforce is building a career lifecycle platform for people in the construction trades. Its end-to-end career platform enables people in the construction trades to leverage their skills to maintain consistent work at fair pay and with the benefits of a W-2 employee. Starting with the electrical trade, Buildforce has become the go-to partner helping hundreds of the largest contractors across its focus geographies connect with this workforce.
