Kong, a San Francisco, CA-based developer of cloud API technologies, raised $175M in Series E funding, at $2 Billion valuation.
The round, which brought the total amount to $345M, was led by Tiger Global and Balderton, with participation from Teachers’ Venture Growth, and 137 Ventures among others and continued support from Andreessen Horowitz, Index Ventures, CRV, Sapphire Ventures, and Notable Capital. In addition, Rana Yared, General Partner at Balderton, will join Kong as a board observer.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its global GTM expansion, enhance product innovation with AI capabilities across AI Gateway, Konnect, Insomnia, and all its API runtimes such as Kong Gateway and Kong Mesh, while investing in the growth of its customer experience teams.
