Firefly Aerospace, a Cedar Park, TX-based end-to-end responsive space services provider, raised $175M in Series D funding.
The round was led by RPM Ventures, AE Industrial Partners, alongside GiantLeap Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Led by CEO Jason Kim, Firefly Aerospace is an end-to-end space transportation company with launch, lunar, and on-orbit services. Its small- to medium-lift launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles provide the space industry with a single source for missions from low Earth orbit to the surface of the Moon and beyond. It is a portfolio company of AEIndustrial Partners focused on delivering a space access for government and commercial customers.
In addition to its responsive launch operations, in partnership with SpaceX, Firefly stands ready to begin its inaugural Blue Ghost mission to the Moon as part of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Service initiative. The team is concurrently preparing for multiple Alpha launches as part of its contracted missions with Lockheed Martin, L3Harris, True Anomaly, NASA and NOAA while co-developing a Medium Launch Vehicle with Northrop Grumman. In parallel, the company is completing final preparations for its first Elytra mission, a configurable spacecraft that provides on-orbit services and a deep space communication network.
