Argil, a Paris, France-based video engine company for the creator economy, raised €4.9M in funding.
The round was led by EQT Ventures, with participation from youtuber Kwebblekop, and Charles Gorintin.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
Led by CEO Laodis Menard, Argil provides a platform that includes an AI-enabled pre-editing feature that reduces the time and effort required to create a social-media ready video. As well as building their own avatars that can speak any language, users also get access to a library of other virtual avatars. In addition, the platform offers templates to convert any existing text-based and audio content, such as articles or podcasts, into video content featuring their avatar.
