Voyage AI, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based developer of RAG tools to reduce AI hallucination, raised $20m in Series A funding.
The round was led by CRV with participation from Wing VC, Conviction, Snowflake, Databricks, Pear VC, Tectonic Ventures, and Fusion Fund.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its offerings and continue to provide the most advanced models for search and retrieval across unstructured data.
Led by Tengyu Ma, Voyage AI is a team of AI researchers and engineers dedicated to building embeddings models, customized for domains and companies, for retrieval accuracy and RAG applications. It provides API endpoints for embedding and reranking models that take in users’ data (e.g., documents, queries, or query-document pairs) and return their embeddings or relevance scores. Embedding models and rerankers, as modular components, integrate with other parts of a RAG stack, including vector stores and generative Large Language Models (LLMs).
