Siemens has signed an agreement to acquire Altair Engineering Inc. (NASDAQ: ALTR), a Troy, Michigan-based provider of software for the industrial simulation and analysis market.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
With this acquisition, Siemens will consolidate its position as a technology company and its leadership in industrial software.
Led by CEO James Scapa, Altair Engineering provides software and cloud solutions in Simulation and Analysis, Data Science and AI, and High-Performance Computing, enabling organizations across all industries to compete more effectively and make smarter decisions in an increasingly connected world.
