Urban Jungle, a London, UK-based insurance technology startup, raised $14M in funding.

Backers included Intact Ventures, Ingka Investments, Mundi Ventures, Eka Ventures, and Sony Innovation Fund, as well as angel investors including former Prudential UK CEO Rob Devey. This round brought the total amount raised by the business to $55M.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to scale its UK Home insurance business, add new verticals, and continue to hire.

Founded in 2017 by Jimmy Williams and Greg Smyth, Urban Jungle is a provider of home insurance to renters and homeowners. The business uses technology to help keep insurance affordable and accessible for its customers, whether that’s through its use of AI and Machine Learning to catch fraud or offering a 100% online service.

The company, which has 70 UK staff in England, has already served over 200,000 customers.
