sema4, a San Francisco, CA-based startup that brings open source powered AI to mission-critical enterprise work, raised $30.5m in funding.

Backers included Benchmark and Mayfield Fund.

The company enables meaningful human-AI collaboration, supporting and streamlining the complex decision-making of knowledge workers. Customers can now harness the power of LLMs safely and securely throughout their most sensitive workflows moving from low-level, low-value automation to native, ground-up, AI-based agents.

The company is also announcing a community release of its new Python-based AI Actions framework that integrates directly with LangChain and OpenAI.
