Kiki Raises USD6M in Seed Funding

Kiki (fka EasyRent), a New Zealand born, now NYC-based invite-only subletting club, raised 6m in seed funding.

The round was led by Blackbird Ventures ($4.5m) with participation from Harry Uffindell, Bowen Pan, Michelle Battersby, Mahesh Muralidhar, Tyler Trerotola, and Jaikumar Ganesh, among others.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and launch its club in NYC, and in other US cities later.

Co-founded by Jack Montgomerie and Toby Thomas-Smith, Kiki is a subletting platform that connects listers with people looking to rent a place for up to 6 months. The company says it has already filled over 1,500 homes since launching 12 months ago in Sydney, Australia. It launching in NYC in October 2023.
