Gradient Comfort Raises Additional $9M in Series A Financing

Gradient Comfort, a San Francisco, CA-based green technology company focused on heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), raised additional $9M in Series A funding.

The round, which brought the total amount to $27.5M, was led by Climate Investment. Cindi Bough, Managing Director Ventures at CI, will join the Gradient Comfort Board, and Rick Cutright, Technology Director at CI, will join as an observer.

The company intends to use the funds to design deployment & manufacturability of its air sourced window heat pump units that decarbonize heating for cold climates and deliver air conditioning with R32 refrigerants, accelerate decarbonization with a focus on solutions for business-to-business channels, advance software services like hardware monitoring, maintenance, leasing, and demand response services including integration with virtual power plants, and add headcount in key roles.

Led by CEO Vince Romanin, Gradient Comfort provides the Gradient, a window heat pump designed to give consumers a heating and cooling system that does not block the window.
