Dispersion Capital Closes First Fund, at $40M

Dispersion Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on decentralized infrastructure, closed its inaugural fund, at $40m.

Founded by Patrick Chang, a seasoned VC from Bain Capital Ventures and Foundation Capital, Dispersion aims to create a multi-chain, multi-currency, and multi-platform world, investing in foundational technologies for decentralized businesses.

The firm focuses exclusively on certain layers of web3, including fintech infrastructure, security, data, and platforms challenging legacy industries.

Before founding Dispersion Capital, Chang launched the blockchain portfolio at Samsung Next Ventures, specializing in blockchain and crypto infrastructure. He has invested in web3’s most pioneering innovators and protocols, including Dapper Labs, Flow, Alchemy, Forte, Theta, and more.

According to a written note, prominent players in web2 and web3, including Faction, Lightspeed, Circle, Ripple, Wemade, Alchemy, Forte Platform, NGC Ventures, Hashkey, Cherubic, and more, are behind the firm.
