Permia Sensing Raises £250K in Pre-Seed Funding

Permia Sensing

Permia Sensing, a London, UK-based company providing agricultural tech solutions, raised £250K in Pre-Seed funding.

The round was Jenson Funding Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its solutions and its business reach.

Led by Efrem de Paiva, CEO, Permia Sensing is a spinoff from Imperial College, London, with a focus on sustainably increasing palm plantations’ productivity by offering farming techniques supported by IoT, AI, Sensors, and Robotics. It leverages an acoustic sensor to enable palm plantations to check on tree health, detect pests, forecast yield and automate harvesting. The acoustic sensor also monitors tree health for the likes of nutrient and irrigation levels. The sensor data can then be utilised alongside imagery and Permia Sensing’s AI-powered platform to help growers analyse tree-level data across an entire palm plantation and suggest ways to improve yields.

The company is currently piloting its solutions in corporate plantations in Sri Lanka.
