Backslash Security, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based provider of a cloud-native application security solution for enterprise AppSec teams, raised $8M in funding.
The round was led by StageOne Ventures, First Rays Venture Partners, and D. E. Shaw Group, with participation from Shlomo Kramer, Ron Zoran and Brian Fielder.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and expand operations.
Founded by Shahar Man, formerly Vice President at Aqua Security and SAP, and Yossi Pik, formerly co-founder and CTO of FARMIGO (acquired by GrubMarket) and Vice President at SAP, Backslash is an enterprise AppSec solution providing unified code and cloud-native security by correlating cloud context to code risk, bolstered by automated threat modeling, code risk prioritization, and simplified remediation across applications and teams. With Backslash, enterprise AppSec teams can can see and act upon the critical toxic code flows in their cloud-native applications; quickly prioritize code risks based on the relevant cloud context; and cut MTTR (mean time to recovery) by enabling developers with the evidence they need to take ownership of the process.
It is already in use by leading technology organizations and Fortune 100 companies.
